Some thoughts on the figures.  The Stalkers look really cool all invisible.  It seems like a pretty fun thing to play with, perhaps your opponent will forget they’re there!  The Confrontation figures are really top notch.  The releases are:

- Unit Box Wamphyrs
- Hero Box Ejhin de Vanth
- Hero Box The Gorgon
- Hero Box Melmoth
- Hero Box Rhéa de Brisis

The Wamphyrs especially are FANTASTIC.  The detail in their faces and wings is remarkable.  The paint jobs on these figures as well is better then average.  Check out the photos in the gallery below to see what I mean.  I’ll post more about these figures when I’ve had a change to play with them in a game or two!

The price for this bag was around 60 bucks and came loaded with foam.  This foam is a very ridged high quality pluck and pull foam.  You can hold a tray in one hand and it won’t sag or bend, even with metal minis.  It comes with the standard pockets that most bags have, which are big enough for books, dice or tape measures and tokens.  I was impressed with the quality of this bag, it’s a soft vinyl feeling bag, and even fully loaded, is quite light weight.  The inside of the bag is also vinyl lined, which makes the foam  slide in and out very nice.

I pulled my Space Marine 1500 point list out and thought this case would be a great size to carry them around.  I had no problem fitting them all in.  In fact, I had a lot of room left over, so I added 2000 points to my list and loaded more figures in the bag…with still more room, I added another Terminator squad for good measure.  I fit in a Land Raider, 4 Rhinos, a Predator tank 2 full Tac Squads, 2 Scout squads, 2 Terminator squads, 1 Devastator squad and a full Assault squad.

Again, I am VERY impressed with this bag.  I have two now!  For the price especially, this bag is a no brainier.  I look forward to getting a larger one to fit a ton of Ork for my next army.  Pick up one today! You won’t regret it.

It seemed like it wouldn’t take too long once it was primed black.  I started with a fairly heavy dry brush of P3 Paints Bastion Gray over the entire thing, which really brought out the details.  From there I painted all the “Brass” fixtures, which there are a lot.  This took the majority of the time to paint.  After that an over brush of Vermin Brown on the floor sections.  Then an over brush of Silver on the skulls, wings, sword and details really made the details stand out.  Under the missile hatch, I painted the missiles white with red tips.  I wish I had a picture of that because it turned out nice.

The set up is simple and only took a few minutes to put together.  Here is how the board looked at the start of the game.

I also ran the Beasts of War Space Sounds app on my iPhone, which adds great ambiance to the game.  Here is the link to get it yourself, either iPhone, or Desktop.

After the first few moves it seemed that the game favored the Space Marines with their ability to shoot long distances and go into “Overwatch”.  But once the Genestealers got into combat range, it quickly turned tides in their favor.  With a massive amount of reinforcements pouring into the game, the Space Marine player needs to really keep moving toward their objectives.  In this mission, the Space Marine with the flame thrower needed to simply place a shot into the escape pod room.  A few times the Genestealers came swarming on the Space Marines from all sides, knocking out all but the Flamer and the Sergeant.

At the last turn the Space Marines Sergeant opened the final door and the flame thrower shot into the room, completing the objective, but killing the Sergeant.  In this mission, it really was a suicide mission!

The game is very well balanced.  The limited movement of the Space Marines is very balanced with their ability to shoot long range.  And the speed and close combat of the Genestealers adds to their ability to tear though the Terminator armor of the Space Marines.

We had a lot of fun playing Space Hulk.  It’s a great strategy game that stands on the line of board game/mini game.  If you don’t already have it, go check it out!

When you open the case you’ll notice on the left side, 3 trays of precut standard figure holes that will hold 36 figures each. This foam is very floppy, flimsy, and wouldn’t really stand up out side of the box.

The precut holes will only fit basic troopers.  If they have larger weapons, or are holding a sword pointed out at all, they will run into the tray above them, which may not be a big deal at all, but time will tell.

The right side of the case holds the larger foam tray meant to hold large vehicles.  Since there are no slots on the trooper foam for larger figures, like the Terminators, The Captains, or any Chaplains, you’ll need to find some room over on the right side for those as well.  This large block of foam is a pluck and pull foam, which is oddly not anchored to a bottom piece of foam.  What I mean is, once the foam is plucked, it goes straight through.  Beneath the vehicle foam is an egg crate foam piece, the vehicles will be sitting on this foam, while the large plucked piece surrounds it.

I think this is a poor way to hold the vehicles, as you cannot remove the foam with the vehicles if you would like to swap it out for another foam block.  On another note, the Land Raider was way too big to even fit in this case.  If I were to close the lid, it would have snapped off the trooper sticking out the top as well as the antenna.

I don’t recommend this product.  I’m sad that I have two!  So far, I’d say stick to Sabol bags and foam.  It’s a sturdier foam, and a more well thought out bag for your needs.

Among my favorites are Dice Town and Memoir ’44.  Two really great games.  If you haven’t had a chance to check them out, go to your local game store and take a look!  Very fun,  very easy to learn games.
