A Tale of Two Predators

Posted by admin on Friday, June 25th, 2010

I painted up two Predator tanks.  The first one I built was a basic cannon with the bolter guns. The second, I decided to go all out with the twin linked Lascannons and the side Lascannons.  They turned out pretty good in my opinion.  I took my time on both of these instead of my [...]

New AT-43 Comic

Posted by admin on Thursday, May 13th, 2010

I haven’t made one in months.  I seem to have lost my Muse for drawing all together lately.  I hope I can find my spark again and get back to it.  Come to think of it, I think I owe Privateer Press some more comics as well.  I should get on that! www.at43comic.com

Sabol Army Transport

Posted by admin on Thursday, April 29th, 2010

I picked up a couple of Sabol basic troop bags.  I am VERY impressed with the quality of this product. The price for this bag was around 60 bucks and came loaded with foam.  This foam is a very ridged high quality pluck and pull foam.  You can hold a tray in one hand and [...]

AT-43: Therian Overview

bane

This is a first part in a new section where I get to show off some of the figures in my collection.  I’ll give a brief rundown on the army and some of my thoughts.  Here it goes…AT-43 Therians.

The Therians are a race of immortal beings who have transcended beyond other mortal races.  They have realized that while they are immortal, the universe will eventually collapse, and thus their existence will inevitably end.  They have set off on a mission to correct this flaw in the universe.  Their plan is to seed life sustaining planets with humanoid life.  Once they evolve enough into an industrial civilization and destroy their ecosystem to a certain point, the Therians turn on a device planted at the polls of the planet which somehow destroys the planet and brings the universe closer to stabilization, somehow.
They have the use of Nano technology, which really makes them a difficult army to fight against.  They have routines that allow them to recreate lost soldiers, fuse AFV’s and their leader, Tiamat can even use an entire unit of soldiers to resurrect herself if she happens to get to close to death.

Here are some pictures from my army.

The Therians are a pretty menacing looking army.  They are great looking, in my opinion.  They have a classic scary alien build and come painted fairly well.  In fact, they are the best of the PrePainted figures Rackham has put out.  Probably because they didn’t need any face details.
The routines the Therians can run make them a big problem to fight against.  It also ups the learning curve for a new player.  But if you’re new to the game and have time to read through the army book a few times, you’ll have an army here that will win you a lot of games.  And really frustrate your opponent as you “Poop Out” those Hekats all over the table!
