A Tale of Two Predators

Posted by admin on Friday, June 25th, 2010

I painted up two Predator tanks.  The first one I built was a basic cannon with the bolter guns. The second, I decided to go all out with the twin linked Lascannons and the side Lascannons.  They turned out pretty good in my opinion.  I took my time on both of these instead of my [...]

New AT-43 Comic

Posted by admin on Thursday, May 13th, 2010

I haven’t made one in months.  I seem to have lost my Muse for drawing all together lately.  I hope I can find my spark again and get back to it.  Come to think of it, I think I owe Privateer Press some more comics as well.  I should get on that! www.at43comic.com

Sabol Army Transport

Posted by admin on Thursday, April 29th, 2010

I picked up a couple of Sabol basic troop bags.  I am VERY impressed with the quality of this product. The price for this bag was around 60 bucks and came loaded with foam.  This foam is a very ridged high quality pluck and pull foam.  You can hold a tray in one hand and [...]

Confrontation: Isle D’Spare

Welcome to the Confrontation campaign Isle D’Spare.  Here you can control your company as you march to battle against the factions of Aarklash.  You can enter the game by clicking here.

Off the northern coast of Aarklash, an island suddenly appeared.  It was rumored in nearly forgotten legend that it existed, and that it’s appearance would be made during the Rag’Narok.  All factions were made aware of it’s presence and have sent their armies to it’s shore in the attempt to control the Island and learn it’s hidden secrets.

You have been chosen as the commander for your company.  You have the honor of landing your troops on the shores of the Isle D’Spare.  You will be battling for your faction and for fate of all Aarklash.

Instructions:

1.  Home screen.

On the home screen you will see two frames.  One is the log in screen and the other is the current map of the Isle D’Spare.  If your screen resolution is set to 1024 x 768 or lower, you will see the frames on top of each other.  The rest, should be side by side, like in the following screen shot.

2. Register an account.

On this screen you will start by clicking the Register link.  You will then be able to create an account.  Enter your information as it is shown on the form and your account will be instantly created.

3.  Log into your account.

You will then be taken back to the log on screen, where you can now log in.  This brings up your user page, which is now customized according to your faction.

5.  The Isle Map.

On the user screen you will find your current information.  At certain times you may have to refresh your page, if this is needed you can refresh your browser, or click the refresh profile button.  The Battle Report section is where you will update your wins and losses.  Read more on that part in a moment.

The Isle Map is an interactive map that shows the current control situation.  The pins are color coded to represent which army currently has control of that Land.  Please note, there is a button at the bottom of the map for a member roster of current players.  Also, if you refresh your browser at any time while on this campaign site, you will be taken back to the map screen.

6.  The Lands.

Clicking on the pin will take you to a detailed screen about the land and it’s current status.  Each land will give the current defender a bonus, or provide an effect for the games played in this land.  This information will be found on this page.

7. Camping.

To set your position in this land click on the Camp button.  If you were camped in a land that was taken control by another faction, your location status will be updated to Retreating.  You will need to find another friendly land and camp in that location.  If you cannot find a location to camp in, attack any of the coastal lands and try to reinvade the island.

If you cannot see this button, your Faction is not in control of this Land.  You cannot camp in Lands not under your factions control.

8.  Attacking.

If you are camped in a Land that borders the Land on your screen, you will see an Attack button.

Clicking this button will set your User page Attack Location to the Land selected and will bring up a page detailing the battle field you’ve selected.

Each battle field will have effects that change the rules for battles fought in that Land.  They will be detailed on this Battle Field screen.  How you set up the field is mostly up to you and your opponent.  Guidelines are loosely laid out in the Battle Field description.

Special note!  If you are currently in retreating mode and cannot find a faction controlled land to camp in, you may still attack the lands that are on the coast.  Think of it like getting back in the boats and trying to invade all over again.

9.  Playing a Game.

Now is the time when you and your opponent play out the battle.  It doesn’t matter if your opponent is playing the faction in control of the Land.  All that matters is if your attacking force wins or looses the battle.  For example.  If you declared an attack against the land of KellNor, which is controlled by the Wolven, but your opponent is playing the Ram faction.  Play the game as normal, with your faction fighting as the attacker and your opponents Ram army will be the defender.  If you win the battle, enter a Win on the Battle Report section of the User menu. This will update the Land information with a Win for your faction, as well as providing you with another Win point in your User menu.  If you loose the battle, simply select Loose from the Battle Report menu.

If you were playing as a defender, you will then update  your Battle report by clicking the option Defensive Win, or Defensive loss.  This will update your profile with Wins and Losses, but will not add to the win/loss record of the Land.

10.  Rank.

Your rank on the home page is based on your amount of Wins.  The higher the wins, the higher your rank.

11. Future.

This campaign has no end.  I intend to let it run for as long as I can pay for the Web hosting.  It is my intention for this campaign to be a dynamic, changing experience.  I will be making changes during the course of the campaign.  Lands will change their bonuses.  The battle fields will change their conditions.  And new features will be added as time goes on.  This should keep the game fresh and exciting, encouraging players to update their games and fight for their factions.

Feel free to join in on the Campaign discussion in the Forums, and have fun playing.  If you find an issue, or bug, or simply have a question or comment, feel free to email me and let me know.  Thank you for participating in this Campaign, and good luck!
